Default H22a question...

i just a 92 prelude si that was in a lil front end accident and sat for almost 2 months. the h22a motor is around the 120000 mark and was wondering if it is around that time that the motor should be overhauled. and im not sure if the vtec is working...cuz i didnt really hear it kick it. could it just be the solenoid?

yea man, could be solenoid. i just got a 93 prelude stock with h22a1 motor. it has 113k, my motor has been recently rebuilt, atleast the head has. the solenoid could definitely be causing, that, and to check it. you need to run 12 volts to it and see if it clicks, if so then its fine. is yours dohc. i just got done fixing mine and troubleshoooting it for a while.

if vtec doesnt kick in that means that your vtec system isnt working properly, not your whole engine

It could be due to not having enough oil in the car too.

very true, and hey said it was a 92 SI

but the tittle is h22a which is a jdm engine code..

but how the hell can you put 120000 miles on an h22a inbetween the time you swap the motor and now..

well get your motor running right before you do anything else. Is your check engine light on?
