OK ive already busted a jdm h22 from bashing the oil pan, so i raised the car up this time and am still scared that eventually ill bash something on accident on a dark road. Instead of making a skid plate couldnt i just use one of those crossmember type bars used for traction bars, take off the tow hooks and bolt it up to the holes so that the frame now sits lower than my oil pan and header so it would kind of be how stock engines sit in stock cars?

yah biut then the crossmember thingie you're making would hit the road hazzard and you'd be stuck on it.

just drive more carefully.

get some brighter lights so you can see what is in front of you so you can avoid things in the road. Also just raise the car up some more if you are that worried. Or you could get some bigger rims to raise it up slightly.

what i mean is that when my car hits the bump, the crossmember gets bashed instead of my expensive engine. i try to drive carefully but there is always those times you cant avoid

I'm not sure about you, but I don't know if I would want a bar directly connected to my frame hanging in the way of road debris...

yea that is tru that sometimes you cant avoid things. But like i said just raise the car up some. And also you wopuld still be bashing something up. So i think it would be easier to just to raise the car up.

Exactly. Don't put a rigid stucture there or you'll risk ruining more than just a skidplate.

i have the car like 1-2" lower than stock and that oil pan hangs WAY down, like not even funny low down. If i lower my car to no wheel gap on 16" with 40 sidewall low profile tires the pan is like this much space from floor _

_

I dont care about lowering my car so ill raise up as much as i can
