I just got my pistons and rods installed, but I need to tune my turbo b18. Should I drive my car untuned for the next 500-100miles or just get it tuned?

if it was me I'd get it tuned then break it in

 

Break it in and then tune it. I'd suggest ensuring the longevity of your motor by ensuring it is broken in properly before you try to tune it. Also if you tune on it you'll probably be more likely to rag on it before the break in process is finished.

would it not make sense to tune a turbo motor first before running it for 100 miles not knowing if its running correctly especially on new internals?

 

I would break it in without turbo then install turbo and tune

Hmm, its too complicated to take off the turbo and run stock n/a.

I'd run n/a or REALLY REALLY LOW boost until you have it broke in and tuned

 

I have broken in motors with turbos installed without a problem. As long as you keep it to low boost, then it can actually help to seat the rings. As far as tuning, I'd wait until the motor is broken in then tune it.

Leave the turbo on even with stock fuel system untuned and just dont make boost simple as that

 

i'd get it tuned right away. raggin on the engine for the first 15 miles to tune it is much easier on it than driving it around untuned for that long. plus, my guess is that you're probably gonna try hitting it at least once in the next 500-1000 miles before it's broken in. better tuned than not. plus, look at places like inline pro. they just idle the car for like 15-20 minutes than rack it up on the dyno. it works.

 

I just put a littler over 600 miles, you guys think i'm ready to be tuned?
