Hey! Do you have a FP Kill switch?
so I've been reading a few of the archived threads on this subject, and I am thinking it's not too difficult for me to understand and do correctly. As far as I understand, all I need to do is break the power to the FP, and use a switch that matches the DC amp rating plus 20%, or just use a switch and relay. I have two questions:
1. Has ANYONE on this board used a switch w/o a relay for an extended period of time and had NO problems with it? people complain that w/o the relay, the switch eventually needs to be replaced.
2. On this thread in the twelth post of the first page, Happyman says that if you have VAFC, you can just take the unit with you and it will disable ECU, rendering the vehicle immobile. Is there any truth to this? If I pull the display out of the car, will I have to initialize and reset it everytime I plug it back in?
Thanks for any help you guys have. I'm kinda hoping the VAFC thing will work.

Always use a relay...no exceptions!..the relay will outlast
your car before it fails. Anyway the heavy duty switch thats needed is
so friggin' huge that it defeats the purpose.
I have a relay based immobilizer that diasbles the ignition circuit
completely. When triggered it simulates engine failure.
On the plus side..the switch that triggers it can be easily hidden.
( One can even use existing switches to activate it).
Hope this helps.

did you get the switch and relay at radio shack, or what? Just wondering weher I can get the parts. Know of any good DIY's or something with apicture/diagram? Thanks for your input
If you want to kill the pump, kill the power to the pgm-fi main relay. This way it will also shut the injectors down so they don't get cranked dry.

can I do this with one switch? or do I need to have a switch for the FP and one for PGM-FI? If I put one onthe PGM-FI will that solve the problem entirely?
Just to bump, can anyone corroborate this VAFC info?

Hmm..lets see if you disable the cars ignition circuit, the fuel
pump or related items wont function...basically the car will crank
but not fire. THe injectors should not run dry. Try it...its fun.
