How many tranny bolts on a b16a2
You need to take the cap off located above the main shaft (top of trans). The cap looks like a round circle about the size of a condom with a 1/2 inch square in the center of the circle. After you take the cap off there is a lock ring which you need to expand off the shaft then tap the case off with a rubber mallet.

You still did not mention if you had the trans out and were trying to take the casing apart to look inside the trans. Anyways, if you have the transmission out and are trying to take the cover off then you will need to take ALL the bolts off the trans, yes even the side, I do believe their is 3 bolts on the side 2 which push a spring that have a little ball that touches the forks, you also need to remove the screw that is holding the reverse pin down. You also have to remove that round cap on the top of the trans and get the locking retainer off that is connected to a bearing with a locking clip.
Look at this pick the bearing I am talking about is the one in the middle of the pic which looks like their is 2 bearings one on top of the other there is a groove in the top bearing where the clip is locked around That must be taken off the bearing, but it doesen't come out of the case.

remove both axles , unbolt the rear mount, 4 bolts total, 3 from driver side, 1 from passenger side, , then 2 under the distributor, should be 2 or 3 on front side of the trannny, make sure to remove the flywheel cover, 10mm 12mm bolts, should be lik 3, then remove the 2 brackets on the bottom of the motor that hold the tranny and motor together, then the torque mount on the front, then the tranny mount, hope that helps
hahah yeah you definately need to do that. go in the faq thread, the very first link is how to remove them.
