Default ECU question

Alright here it goes....I got a 92 VX hatch with a 97 gsr swap but I still have the original wiring harness in there. I want to upgrade the ECU and all I have is a P72-A02(96 and up GSR). Is there a convertor for this to make this ECU work, or is my only option to go out and buy a ODB1 ECU?
