wider wheels
Disadvantages: heavier, rubbing depending on rim offset and how much lowered.
Just get rims with the right offset for your wide tires. What size do you plan to get?

I think 225 is pretty good. With a 1-1.25" gap, you probably only have to worry about rubbing on turns with super wide tires. Wide tires + tucking = probably not good. I don't think an inch will be a big problem. So, what size tire will you'll be running?

yeah 8.5 is no problem. I even heard some dude's running 9 inch wide rims. The trick is all in the offset, my volk ce28n is 8.5 with 40mm offset which is perfact for the rsx,235 on my rims doesn't rub.
