Default results from first time at the track....

needless to say im very disapointed and pissed. you'll see why. this may get long, but for those that stay with me, greatly appreciate it.

00' GSR - no spare, no jack, passenger corner light taken off, AEM CAI, skunk2 manifold(killed my torque, cams go in later this month)

first run - a nervous as ****, launch at ~4500, i bog cause i got nervous, dont know why.
rt - 1.047
60 - 2.611
1/8 - 10.732
1/4 - 16.352 @ 88.33

second time, still nervous and agged at my performance, launch around ~4500, i get wheelspin and totally let go of the throttle(dumb) and bogged....
rt - .681
60 - 2.774
1/8 - 10.800
1/4 - 16.332@ 88.33

last time of the night, im pretty pissed, i lower my psi to about 25. i launch at ~5000 and drop the clutch and floor it. wheel spin all the way through first and part of second, half way through 3rd check engine light comes on and my speedometer stops working
rt - .988
60 - 2.812
1/8 - 11.003
1/4 - 16.9@83.01

i check the codes and it comes up 20 and 65 which is a eletrical sensor malfunction and a o2 sensor heater malfunction(???)..any ideas how to fix these?

even though i had crappy times i had fun with a couple friends (crx/gsr hybrid and a sc400)

track = i promise ill do better next time

well, your trap speeds look about right.

So just practice on the launch and shift as quickly as possible. Remember, fast shifting doesn't necessarily mean hard shifting.

G'luck.

how are you checking your engine codes? do you have a laptop hooked up to the car? if so, how does one go about doign this? i'm very interested in doing this because the damned engine light always comes on after i fill my tank and forget to click the cap 3-5 times...........dealership used to do it for free but my warrenty is gone and now it'll cost me $30 just to check it. anyhelp on the subject from anyone would be greatly appreciated, if possible please email me at masterxfob@yahoo.com

thanks

You can short out the service connector with a paper clip, and that will tell the ECU to flash the engine code on the Engine check light.

Judging from your 60ft times, you need to work on your launch. Try launching at 2500rpm and work your way up to see what is the best launch rpm for you. You need to floor the gas on the split second that you get full traction. Too soon and you will spin the tires, too late and you will bog. Relax next time and work on your launch. Every tenth of a second you shave on 60ft is about 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile so if you can get your 60ft time to 2.2-2.3 (very possible even on street tires), you can hit mid to low 15's. It's your 1st time so don't feel too bad.

It's your launch.
Practice...
slipping the clutch is what you should do, ride it like theres no tomorrow
what tires are you on? you launch way too high IMO. like mentioned above try about 3k and slip the clutch while gassing , but dont go WOT until it hooks up.

thats some funny ****......16.3's---damn the track is all about driving. I can get 15.9 out of my LS with only a cat back and everything in the car(spare tire, etc.). Oh and dont drop it at freakin 4500 adn dont be nervous nobody cares what u run, unless that is your racing for money or something
