Default First Time At the Track

I am driving a VX with a 96 spec B18C i/h/e. It's my first time at the track and I only got two runs in before it started to rain. I really need to work on my launch as I am sleeping at the light, literally. I am pretty sure I will hit 13's next time.

Run #1
Reaction: .651
60 Foot: 2.290
1/4: 14.404
Trap: 96.884 mph

Run #2
Reaction: .879
60 Foot: 2.302
1/4: 14.267
Trap: 97.009 mph

I will launch when the third yellow light hits before the green. Oh, and I was launching anywhere between 2-3k RPMs and still spinning. Any suggestions?

.651 isn't sleeping too much. But the .879 is. You just gotta get moving a little bit after the third yellow.

What tires are you running?

lower your tire pressure to about 20 psi and see if it will improve your 60ft time to 2.1 sec......motor inserts and traction bar or small slicks will help your stop your wheel hopping and spinning...

I hope your not implying that your reaction time is factored into your 1/4 mile time. I am really getting tired of posts where people try to imply this.

I wouldn't think a 96 or 97mph trap would cut 13's either unless you got some good traction off the line. I run 13.8 @ 102mph, but then again, traction for me is **** poor and I let off in first and second until I hook. So maybe you do have 13's in there.

I am running at the Hilo Drag Strip, none of you may know where that is. Elevation is almost sea level, 80% humidity. I am using Falken Azenis. I'll lower my tire pressure next time. But yeah, traction is a big issue. My car has a lot of top end though, don't know if that will make any difference. I ran against an SRT-4 and he ran a 13.8 at 100 MPH.

Haha, yeah. I don't really know anyone in the class except for a couple of people. What car do you drive?

My goal is 13.999 with my car the way it is. Otherwise, I should go buy a CTR intake cam to nudge me along.

You'll go 13's. I went 13.90's @ 97mph with a 2.1 60' in a full weight DX coupe. B18C5, I/H/E. My 60' was poor but the mph seems on point with the ET on street tires.
