ECU code 22, vtec pressure valve? ne1?
vtec doesnt kick in...
code 22 specifically: defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch
what wires/plugs should i check...
and where is the oil pressure switch?? thanx!

you should get a factory manual there are a few ways in it to check the Vtec solenoid. the oil pressure switch is on the side. Its the sensor that is screwed in

yes, the VTEC Pressure Switch (VTPS) is the green plug on the VT solenoid. See if your connection came loose somewhere, and if you wired VTEC in, see if your connections at the ecu plug is ok.

what connections should i check, and is it possible that two plugs have been switched and are in the wrong place? anything like that, that would have to do with my rpm gauge not working?

-- the VTPS connections...duh!
and is it possible that two plugs have been switched and are in the wrong place?
-- perhaps. I have no idea. I didn't wire up your vehicle, in fact - who did ?you? Was VTEC working before the VTPS check engine light was thrown?
anything like that, that would have to do with my rpm gauge not working?
-- all I can offer is that you check your VTEC connections at the ecu plug which would be: D6 - VTPS, and in the engine bay at the VTPS.

okay heres the situation... i the mechanic couldnt figure it out!!! my vtec still isnt working...
what are the things i should worry about that would have to do with vtec excluding the parts that would remain under the hood when doing a swap(wiring, ecu, etc.)
for example what things should i look for on the new motor? solenoid? oil pump?
its a new motor, new throttle body, intake manifold. what would go wrong within these things that would affect vtec??
this would be really helpful!! thanx guys and read carefully!

Check wiring from the pressure switch to the D6 pinout.
Pull out a digital multimeter and check the wiring. That's about the only other thing besides hardware problem.

I Hear you ViXon...
My ECU is throwing codes 22 and 23 and my Vtec won't work either, brought it to my mechanic and he couldn't figure it out. I need help too...If you solve the problem drop me an e-mail at XXUGLYANDPROUDXX@hotmail.com. It would be greatly appreciated

nope... i had another mechanic look at my wiring today, it was fine, checked my solenoid, it was working...
does anyone know if the wire from the D6 pinout from the ecu (vtec wire that plugs into the solenoid) has constant voltage on it. we check the solenoid and it reacted to voltage... we check the other wire going to the ecu while the car was running and the light didnt turn on the tester... my q is does it have power when vtecs supposed to hit or is it supposed to have constant power??? thanx

along the with questions i have on the post before,
let me see if i can clear this up, so basically vtec doesnt kick in and the problem isnt something for the check engine light to come on... so CEL isnt on but vtecs not working... anyone have any ideas??? thanx
