Default is an aftermarket ignition needed?

is an aftermarket ignition needed for my goals? my goals are to make around 250-300 whp on a stock b16 with hondata s200b.

not needed...you should be fine for that kind of power. I'm about to turbo my gsr and have a crane ignition in my garage however I am sticking with my stock ignition.

I believe you can have 400hp with stock ignition. Do not give up on stock stuff, some of it can last for a while

It may be possible to run those numbers without an after market ignition, but with an msd you will get a stronger more efficient spark. I ran no msd while making around 350 whp, and my car ran like ****. Car ran much smoother after installing the aftermarket ignition.
