Theft
LOL. Sorry.. numberous members sadly have had their R stolen even though they had gone the extra mile. If a thief really wants your car, they will get it. The things you have mentioned might only slow them down. But if they tow your car... good luck there..
I know a guy who steals cars for "joy rides". I talked to him about this subject awhile back. Take note that this is in Australia and i don't think it's anywhere near as bad as in the states.
Basically you have the young kids who go on joyrides, and then you have the professionals who steal cars for a living.
You can stop most of the joyriders with clubs/alarms/sattracking etc but no matter what you do to your car you can't stop a professional.
The guy i know who steals cars, he said he and his (car stealing) friend were always steered away from stealing a car if it had a club on it. There was a time when the club was'nt fitted on properly, so that they could sorta drive it. Apparently they could only make left turns... so they ended up stealing it, keep making left turns in the car and eventually parked it back where they left it! lol idiots.
As for the pros, you can't stop them. I don't think car towing is as common here, some of these guys have "heard" stories about a car being towed away, so it dosn't seem too common to worry about over here. But theres a new thing called "DataDots" coming out around the world. Where they spray around 10,000 miniture-sized dots all over your car. They are naked to the human eye but they store the number of your car and they make rebirthing the cars (reintroducing stolen cars into the market) so much more difficult. Basically this DataDot thing is targeting the professionals and it's a good sign for us. But don't forget this thing is totally new and like most of these things eventually they're gonna figure out ways around them.
Goodluck.

Well some corrupt people at the Parts department at the dealerships can make keys, and sell them out for profit. Also, the club is not that hard to break.

It looks like parking in an open public place is the best way to go. It might look abit odd with someone sawing away a club in someones car.
But then again i'm always worried about people scratching/dinting and bashing their door open onto my car. Theres not much you can do.

Anyone had their 2000-2001 itr stolen with the immobolizer? How about with the club or the stick that locks the clutch or brake? If they did, how did they get around them?
It also helps to park between cars so they cannot tow it. Turn your steering towards the curb so even if the want to tow it, it will make it harder. Pump the brakes after you turn off the engine (Only do this if your brakes are cool) and leave the hand brake up, so the front and rear wheels are both locked. These are just free ways of slowing down the damn losers. There are many many ways of doing it.
