Just get a battery isolator that will be rated high enough for you application and follow the instructions to hook it up. You may want to look at get a high output alternator and a cap before doing this though.

Yeah I am looking at a 200amp alternator. My concerns are what kind of battery do I need. Which battery would work in front and in the back, yellow top in front and red top in back?

Actually it would be the opposite, you need a red top in front and yellows in back. Also, if you don't bump alot with the engine off the extra batts aren't going to help you. That is the only thing they help you with.

What are the differences between the two batteries? And if I dont bump with the car off than only a red top in the front?

The reds are regular cycle and the yellows are deep cycle. A buddy of mine had a deep cycle up front and could never jump start it. If he ever left his lights on, he had to stick it on a charger. If you don't play with the key off, then you just need a red top up front. Remember the alternator generates power, all batteries do is store power. If you want to support more power, you need to generate more power.

For some reason I thought you have to run with a yellowtop up front, but looks like you can run either or.
