Default Will a car run without a battery?

Just wondering. Can a car after its started run without a battery. I had a bad battery/alternator and since then have replaced both. Just wondering if the battery was bad could the alternator sustain the car during highway driving?

well if the alternator works and the car is running than yes it will keep running but only if the battery is able to hold a small charge, however if the battery will not hold a charge than it will not start up again. i would suggest just getting a new battery. if you had a magnito than it would stay running

if the battery dies, yea it will stay running but if it gets disconnected the car will shut off

Off my old school Prelude I removed the terminals completely off the battery. Still ran.

if you pull the battery while the car is running it will run depending on the style of circuit the car has. The bad side of this is when you reconnect the battry the surge of power will blow the regulator.

Yea... I had this happen: I was running an AZ alternator and a small hawker battery for the longest. Car would never start up if it sat for a day or two and the battery would lose charge.

replaced the battery... went ok for a while... problems reappeared

replaced the alt... then new battery wouldn't hold charge

(figured messed up alternator killed the first battery and now the second one aswell)

replaced the alternator and warranteed the battery...

Now everything seems ok, stupid Autozone alternators. Oh well.
