can any d-series motor be matched with any d-series auto trans?
If I swap in another D-series engine into my 92 Civic DX auto (sedan), could I keep my auto transmission that is in there now? I'm looking to get the D16Z6 motor or a D15B.
Thanks,
-Brian.

yes you will be able to keep that tranny. you will have to take the flywheel off the new motor if it was a manual trans car and then put on the plate for the torque converter and then the converter which i assue you have on your current DX motor. you will need a different ECU if you run a vtec motor. idk if they make an auto vtec motor????somebody correct me but i have never seen one?????? help this guy out

Thanks again you guys.
Whew, you're gonna get pretty sick of me asking questions before June.
I might attempt the manual swap later though. Lohatch, you keep tempting me!!!
