Default difference between auto and manual......

first off I ain't talking about trannies. I have been looking around for a motor for my EX and everyone asks is it auto or manual....
So I was wondering is there a difference between them? I'm a noobie to the Honda mototr scene so I just had to ask... can you not just change the flexplate/flywheel?? or are there other balancing issues that doing this would disturb..?
Just wondering because it seems that every motor I find is for a manual and of coarse I need an auto..
Thanks for the info

you may have a bit of trouble with the tranny being you have an automatic since the manual trannies are 5 speed and i believe the autos are 4.
when i did a swap on my car it was an automatic motor so i had to put the flywheel and all from my old motor onto the new one to convert it to manual

If you are going to do a swap anyways, do the swap and do the manuel conversion at the same time.

To answer your question No. The only difference is the transmissions. An F22B1 engine is an F22B1 engine there is no auto or manual engine. Only the transmissions are manual or auto there is nothing different about the blocks.

So any motor you find that says it's for a manual, it just happens to have had a manual transmission mounted to it and you can bolt it up using your original A/T flexplate & torque converter

^^^Correct. Just take and switch the Flywheel for a Flexplate. The engine has no reason to be made different.
