Default speed sensor will not work

i just put a B16A2 in my 92 hatch. everything works but the ecu is throwing code 17 (speed sensor) and my v-tech wont kick in and the speedometer wont work. i have put a new sensor on and am still getting the samething. i have even rewired the sensor and it still does nothing! i could care less about the speedometer i just want the vtech working right !

I hate it when my phone doesnt work too. Seriously though. did you replace it with a good working sensor? If so then I would invest in a continuity tester and check the wiring back to the ecu.

Yeah, it's probably just a bad sensor...them and the gauge cluster wiring go bad all the damn time. Replace it.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, IT'S VTEC, NOT V-TECH.

It could either be a bad sensor or worst, which is a bad differential.

take out the VSS from the transmission and check where the VSS meets the differential to see if everything is in place and not loose...my differential broke and would not spin the gear on the speed sensor

Could be a bad wire from the Speed Sensor back to ECU. Check to see if the wires in the connector is loose or damaged.
