Is there a proper way to install a window net wothout a full cage? I need a few more safety items and that is one of them..Or should i just go with arm restraints?
Thanks.

Not much help, but ... I've never seen a window net installed without a cage.
I have seen arm restraints used without a cage - usually in open top cars.
What are you trying to accomplish? What car? What type of events?

I was under the impression that you needed a rollbar, belt, fire bottle, and suit.

Well, that quote is a bit ambiguous, as it says "rollbars are required, as in racing". Except that rollbars are not required in racing - full roll cages are required.
I have no clue what SoloI requires. I always assumed it was the same as club racing - since you are at club racing speeds.
Anyways, I still don't recall every seeing a window net installed without a cage.
If you need net or restraints, I'd go with arm restraints, since they are easily removed (assuming you are streeting car to/from track) and don't block ingress/egress.

But you're not wheel-to-wheel

re: scca solo I
I don't think a window net is required.
I'm sure a cage is not.
I used to have the solo I regs but lost them. They can be ordered off the scca web site. Might be worth checking the web sites of the pennsylvania hill climb assn members, like blue mtn scca. they might have the safety info posted.
THSCC doesn't require a net for their TT events. rollbar, fire bottle & suit are required.

I have seen a window net without a cage. It was attached to the door. But..this is bad (door comes open, so does net)
I am not sure that Solo Requires either, but its should be ok to use arm restraints.
Since Solo 1 is not wheel to wheel, there is "less" of a chance for a crash and only a bar is required (belts bottle, full gear are required though)

Unless it's changed for the 2004 season, a suit is not required for THSCC.
Diane
To OP - Go with the arm restraints. Much less hassle, not to mention I can't see how one could effectively mount a window net on a car with no cage. Door = bad idea. You could bolt it through the floor/roof with straps of some kind, but who wants to put holes in their roof to mount a window net when they have the option on arm restraints?

Alright guys, minimum roll protection for SCCA Solo-I is a SCCA approved 4-point roll bar. The personal safety gear/fire requirements are the same as Club Racing. Window nets or arm restraints are required.

Recommended, but not required for Solo.
