Default cold air intake on turbo

Would a cold air intake be overkill on a turbo'd car? With an intercooler is a cai just a waste or even worth it? Would it hurt performance because of the longer intake pipe? By the way I own a Mazda 323 GTX...rare and fun car. Thanks

Yes a cold air intake will help your performance. The lower the temp of the air the turbo is getting, the less you'll have to cool it afterwards. The turbo will also no longer be sucking in the warm air in the engine bay, which is allways a good thing. Remember that the cooler you keep the air the better.

Coincidentally I also have a 323GTX.

It will help alot

there is alot of under hood tems and if you can get the plumming out of that you should notice a differance due to the cooler air

its true, its cuz they use a mass air flow sensor.

Does that apply to all mass air flow sensor cars? My 88 323 GTX is Mass Air Flow Sensor. Thanks

This is like, way wrong.

Mass air flow and speed density cars both will fully compensate for any changes in air temperature.
