Default My car won't start, i've tried almost everything.

Ok, im just gonna make one post for everything so far.

cap/rotor replaced - nothing
ignition coil replaced = nothing
ICM replaced = nothing
Main relay replaced = nothing
jump from another car = nothing
checked fuses = nothing

Notes:

1/4 tank left
radio still works fine
ra ra ra ra ra sound...still comming

NO SPARK I'am still not getting a spark even after replaceing things.

could it be the whole distributor? when i compared my distributor and bob's distributor...there was rust colored build up on the metal shaft in my dizzy, but none on his.

Should I try to switch the shafts? can switch dizzys outright, obd1 obd2 etc.

also, is it right for the main relay to make a ticking sound when i try to start the car up? it tics when i hold the key in the third position...

could it be fuel delivery?

could it be the starter?

i thought itd be electrical because of no spark.

i might just have to take it in

He said he replaced the ignitor (ICM - Ignition Control Module).

Did you hit a hard bump? Is there red dust inside your dizzy? Mine did the same, turned over but no spark.

Either way, it's probably the main assembly. (Part # 4)

Should be able to find a new one for $100.

I'm assuming the "ra ra ra" is not the chant of the crowd, but rather your engine trying to turn over. You can rule out the battery and probably starter. If your getting no spark you probably need a distributor.

Did the car die on you while you were driving or did it just not start one day?

I had to replace my distributor last year. Got it from a yard online for about $125. - http://www.car-part.com/

Get a new cap & rotor. Then plugs and wires if it's been a while.

i know this sounds dumb but also check the firing order... make sure the plug wires are in right order

it can be you have no fuel delivery. fuel pump not workin. fuel filter clogged. if its turning over its not the starter. .. recomend check fuel flow and if that doesnt do it get a new dizzy.

3 things needed for any engine: fuel, spartk, timing.

With those 3 you get something.

check spark, pull a wire, use a timing light, something.

fuel, can you hear the pump prime in the ON position? does it smell like gas if you pull a plug??

timing, a timing light helps.

See if yo ugot all this stuff, remember, check the simple first stuff!!

goo luck

Check the compression also. I know it has nothing to do wiht the spark, but it could be the cause of it not starting. Are you touching the base of the plug to something metal when you test for a spark? If you just hold it in the air it will not spark.
