>5am: car was fine until i arrived at work parking lot. car sputtered idling very low and turned off almost instantaneously.
5:05am: pushed car to parking space.
5:30: after going inside i decided to go out side to try to turn it on again and it turned on so i moved it to the other side THOUGHT IT WAS FINE

1:15pm: tried turning it on no start.
1:15-30: banged on tank and removed seats to see if pump was whirring up pressure. it was.

now no start.

ive been told its the dizzy?
can it be just the rotor and cap or the unit as a whole.?
what else can it possibly be?
what to do to?
changed the rotor and cap,,they were bad, but it turned on 4 a 1 second the turned off.couldnt turn it back on..it was really hard to chek 4 spark but from what i saw,nuthin,....maybe the relay?

Ignitor... a unit within the distributor. about 40-50$ if that.

As long as your fuel supply is there... if it isn't then I would say main fuel relay under the dash.

Its fairly easy to check spark.

Also, check to make sure your rotor and cap are not worn out, it might be as simple as a rotor or cap replacement

like the other guy said, check for spark. it sounds like an ignitor. take one of your plug wires off the plug, and set a screwdriver next to it. crank it up, and see if you're getting spark. if you're doing this by yourself, set it on top of the valve cover so you can see it from the drivers seat. if you can hear your fuel pump, and you're not getting spark, my money would be on the ignitor.
