An engine that is to cold could be a bad thing.... but I doubt the fan is going to make it that cold

i was thinkin if anything it should keep it running nice and cool considering 90% of the time im driving is in commute traffic and rippin to 9k the other 10%.....i was thinkin to allow a little extra warm up time and that would be cool......btw how would the engine ever be "cold"??? especially to where something coild be damaged?
i could understand starting the car on a cold day and immedietly bringin the rpms up witout a warm up being harmful....but the fan if anything would help if anything....i was just thinkin of some sort of power loss if anything...
or would it be a better idea to hook my fan up to a toggle switch inside the car that i can manually turn on and off.....any opinions on this?

why a toggle switch over a constant fan spin....what im tryin to find out is if there is anything wrong with running either a toggle switch or wiring the fan directly up to the ignition.....one vs. the other.....im trying to decide which is my best bet for better cooling without running into problems in the near or later future...thanks
why not just try to diagnose the problem? an engine not running at normal operating temps has many ill effects. fuel economy, different systems only run properly at normal temps.
im just pissed cus i just got the motor and istalled a new radiator, fan, and poured in new coolant thought i was in the clear.....i was noticing my fan wasnt turning on when in traffic...i also noticed that my lower radiator hose was cold to the touch and the upper was boiling hot after the car reached normal temp....i purchased a new thermostat yesturday and am hoping that it will help solve the problem...also i was thinkin that when i removed all my AC when doing the swap i may have screwed with the fan connection/wires...i dunno...thanx
test your fan switch. i forgot the specs, but you unplug the harness, then use an ohmmeter to test the resistance of the switch. and also test your fan to see if it's busted, jump it to the battery.
so i hooked the fan up to a toggle switch in the car that i turn on when its at running temp.....so far no problems with overheating so im thinkin it was cuz my fan wasnt working.....
