Default Resetting ECU after Mods?

After installing a header and high-flow cat is it necessary to reset the ECU? If it is, can somebody explain how to do this please...

I have heard that letting the car idle for 10-15 minutes with the new mods would be enough. Is this a myth?

Myth.

Disconnect the -ve battery terminal for 5 minutes then reconnect. You will need the code for your radio btw.

Actaully, you can reset the ECU by pulling the Hazard fuse from the engine bay (instead of disconnecting the battery).

Check out the Helms Manual for the circuit wiring...

And you will need your radio code as mentioned previously.

Flux - get the radio serial number form the back of the radio (mean you have to take the center console out and such). And, talk to your dealer. He/she should give you the code right away.

Myth.

You dont need to reset the ECU after you do a mod. The ECU automatically adjusts within milliseconds.

open the glove box and look on the outside side of it (make sense?) there should be a sticker with the radio code on it.
