Brown stuff? What kind of brown stuff? Is it discoloration from running hot or maybe old oil? Maybe sludge build up? Tell us what kind of brown stuff.
If you are building an engine you should take that head to a machine shop. Have them clean it, surface it, and check it. They will tell you if this "brown stuff" will pose a problem.

Well still take it to a shop and have it checked out. If it got really hot there maybe more problems then a discolored rocker.

might be extream heat form running really hot oil. if your sending your head for some work the machine shop might be able to give you more help on it. cant really help until the pics come up.

Those rockers look like either not enough oil or the valve lash was way too close. Looks like some major friction issues were going on with that one and your valve train should be checked. I'm sure they are really worn down. I would say the rockers need to be replaced.

im planing on getting the m24x cams and valve train from rocket, i also have new ITR LMA. do you think i really need new rocker arms? i looked at honda and they are like 130$ each. i tryed to clean the brown stuff off with some petrol and it didnt work. when i rub my finger on it i can feel where the cam was and its all smothe and as soon as i hit brown it all ruff.

Sorry I actually meant the tappets need to be replaced. If everything got way too hot then it will be weaker than before. Sounds like you are changing everything over anyways. So no biggie. It's just always a good idea to have anything you are re-using checked out by a good machine shop.
