Default wastegate question

i have a 98 GSR and i am going to boost it very soon. i have the greddy kit with a spearco intercooler. i was wondering what i could do to the turbo to make the wastegate open at 5PSI, i have to drive this car for the next 4 years of my life and i cant blow the motor so im running very low boost, i am getting DSM 450CC injectors and uberdata. i want to be super safe. the greddy wastegate is internal and i THINK opens at 8PSI for a GSR, im not sure. thanks for the help

well im not so sure about the greddy, but if you got a TiAL wastegate you change the Spring inside of it.. each spring is rated to open at X psi. they make one i believe thats right around 5 psi..

Just use a boost controller...but if you ask me, looks like your going to have the fuel to push well over 5psi safely. Just get it tuned.

if you're so concerned on blowing your motor, why boost at all? keep it stock. why waste money on a turbo setup when you're only going to boost 5psi?
