hey guys im having a problem with my VSS sensor and vtec. Today i changed the sensor and it worked ok for about 20min or so then i laid into 3rd gear good and my neadle started bouncing around again like it did when i first got the problem . Which also means vtec will not engage. Just bout part from honda and it doesnt even move my speedo anymore. Can anyone help me with this problem im having?

 

Are the connector pins at the VSS corroded? What year and model?

 

its a 95 i changed the pins on one of them cause it pulled out of the connection. my friend extended the wires so it wont pull out again.

Has the CEL been coming on? I don't see many bad speed sensors on 94-97 Accords. Usually a bad speedo head on them.

 

Yes check engine light comes on with code 17. And I have no vtec or cruise control and the part was brand new form Honda.

If the VSS is good, there's a wiring or connector problem somewhere.
