There are two of them as we speak on eBay, just check under "DC5". However, the airbag unit WILL NOT plug in; this is because DC5R doesnt have side airbags, and the plugs are different...you need to use the DC5R control unit as well.

Just get a USDM Si wheel. The only thing different is the black emblem (you can get a sticker overlay), and the outer portion. You'll have a fully functional airbag with cruise.

The Si emblem is black, and I think eBay sells these decals that go over the black emblem leaving the "H" exposed. Which makes the emblem look red.

So it doesn't. I have it on my steering wheel, as seen above. It almost looks like the real thing. It's semi-glossy like the actual emblem.

i am just not all about the sticker idea, even though it saves alot of money, stickers are known to wear off, especially after it sits in the sun for a long time.

I bought my wheel with the sticker on it, there are no signs of fading or peeling.

I bought it from RacerDre here at H-T. He put the sticker on. But if you want a JDM look without switching the whole SRS system or not having the airbags work, then the sticker is the way to go. Up to you, just trying to help since you asked the question.

The problem with the itr airbag is that it is a 2 pin single inflator vs. the usdm 4 pin dual inflator. It has nothing to do with side airbags. The itr will work in canadian vehicles since they use the two pin style.

The airbag cover is riveted on and can be removed by drilling out the rivets allowing you to exchange covers. This has been done by people on CRSX.

It was my understanding that the reason USDM are different is because of the side SRS. Everything is tied into one another, and thats why there are different connectors, since Japan didnt use the side SRS.

This is just what Ive heard, and I maybe wrong on this one.

yup... the difference in pins was because of the side impact airbags... someone has swapped the whole system for about $700 so he can have the full function of the airbags, have a jdm steering wheel and he won't get an SRS light when he changes his seats... he had a connection that can get you the steering wheel, passenger side airbag, and srs harness and computer for that price I listed before.. do a search on crsx... it's there, if you want to have recaros and jdm steering wheel with functioning airbags..
