are you talking about FTS?
whenever you depress the clutch, if you car is equipped with the clutch switch, the ECU (and not only hondata does that) will drop the RPMs to a set number, it is closely related to FTL (full throttle launch) where the clutch switch works in conjunction with the VSS sensor to keep RPMs at a set number when staging.

just learn how to shift fast. when you can shift fast enough it wont matter if you have the gas on the floor through the shift or not.

its possible ya. hondata doesnt just add h/p. it gives you the ability to tune the motor to put out the max hp/trq possible. so if your pretty un tuned ya its possible to get another 10hp maybe more

i think your talking about the staging mod? the vid with the guy just sitting witht he door open holding the car and the car kinda sounds like its bumping off the rev limit? well he's not reving the car to full throttle its a mod used for staging that allows you to press for full throttle while the hondata controls the actual amount of rpm used for your launch.
press cluch to activate hondata switch, press gas to full, hondata controls rev to your set amount...say 4500rpm, green light, let go of clutch, your at full throttle automatic. thats how it works in a nut shell
post a link to the vid your talking about.
honestly from the way your talking i think a hondata might be out of your league. if you get a hondata system it will allow you to tune your motor to work at full potential. if you have never tuned you will need to learn from an experienced tuner that can show you the odds and ends of the hondata spectrum. you will not gain 10hp just by purchasing a hondata it doesn't work that way.

You just gave me a headache.. thanks
Werd. Headache here too....
Hondata does not add horsepower, not tuning takes it away. Theres a difference.
Think of it this way, Hondata will basically in the end control the a/f mixture. That's where your Horsepower gain comes from. If you can control the a/f mixture with something else for cheaper (like your AFC) then use that. But first, go learn about tuning, I'm a newb myself but if you've got what your sig lists then that sounds liek about 5 grand into a CRX with an ignorant owner.
