problem w/ my sub.#@
ok well, ive got a 15 inch rockford punch hx2, dual 4 ohm, wired to single 2ohm. directed 600d amp bridged at 2ohms. it was hitting hard as hell the other day, then all of a sudden its like half as loud, sounds like ***, and sounds like its bottoming out when it shouldnt be. both v.cs still work. i dont know what i should do, i dont have the money to get a new sub right now.

if its DVC, check to be sure that the loop is still connected...Also check your headunit that you didnt turn the bass power down by accident...it happens...if not, yuoure not getting enough juice to the amp, meaning your ppower is too small...are you using a capacitor? those usually pick up extra juice when the sub needs it...

all connections are still fine. it was actually hitting harder when i was having problems w/ my alternator. *it was only putting out 11v at idle, and 9v when it had a draw, such as amp or headligthts or anything really.
well fixed that now alternator is putting out about 14v. so the amp was seeing 9v making less power than it is now.
im thinking about hooking up each vc. to the 2 4ohm channels and see what happens. im just mad becuase i was going to compete in a spl thing this saturday and i was sure i could have won for my class. damnit

how long have you had it/been pushing it really hard? If it's been run long enough or hard enough, maybe one of the VCs blew. Your amp isn't running in safe mode or anything is it? That could also be another prob. Did you check all your RCA connections too? Speaker terminals and cups?
ive checked everything. and both voicecoils are fine. i hooked each one up by themselves to make sure. it doesnt smell like burnt vc. or anything so i have no idea. i guess ill just play around w/ it and toss it if it doesnt wanna work right.
If it is making popping/slapping noises at relatively low volume levels it is probably starting to blow. When it is completely blown it will cease to function at all.
no, i know what that is, but i mean, it excursions fine, just doesnt put out much sound.....
hmm lets see i dont really know how to say it. it still excursions the same, but its not loud, it sounds like its not getting enough power, becuase it sounds like its bottoming out. i dont know, im just confused, its about 2 weeks old, i only beat it a couple times showin it off ya know.
i duno any more suggestions???

make sure that your Gain on the 600d isnt turned up to far, now that your alternator is putting out 14volts.. also check the impedence on both voice coils to make sure the each read 4 ohms.
