Compression Test on motor out of the car??
yeah thats impossible just try and do a cylinder leak test see how much percent leakage you have that could help, you need the clt tool and an air compressor all its going to do is pump air into the cylinder and see how fast it leaks while its on tdc if it leaks fast try squirting some oil into the cylinder if it holds off by doing that the engine probably has bad rings but if it still leaks bad check for a hissing noise coming from your exhaust manifold or intake mainfold either side will tell you which valves are bad.
All you do is get a automotive battery and sit it next to the motor. Then make sure the motor is in neutral. Then take some jumper cables and go from the negative on the battery to somewhere on the block. Then go from the positive on the battery to the positive post on the starter. Then that a small wire and touch the starter post to the solenoid terminal. The starter should kick over when you do this. Just be careful and make sure that the engine isn't going to fall over. Hope this helps
Dont compression test an old motor that has been sitting with no oil, sometimes the valves tend to stick open and you'll get wacked readings. 20psi? wtf?
