damn Bro, thats a tough one. I've heard so many different things about the smog ref. I 'm about to finish my B18c1 swap in my 89 CRX but thats gonna pass with ease.

I think it really comes down to the indiviual ref. some are pretty cool. I would call and talk to a ref. You normally have to leave a mess and one will call you back. Ask him for the lowdown and see if he can give an opinion.

ANYBODY else have some info on this?

From what i understand a JDm motor will only be legal if you use the parts for smog from its US counterpart or engine. Since there is no civic type r produced here i do not beleive that you will be BAR certified for this engine. As stated best thing would be to call the ref.

My sig has links to get lots of info about smog and number to the ref

what are you talking about. Screwed?? i got my bar sticker i wasnt screwed. It is actually very easy to do as long as you do what they ask.

Many people have their BAR sticker. You must follow the guidelines of your state if you want to be legal in this case he should not get the motor if it is not legal.
