im seriously geting pissed. i got a line that keeps coming off the top of the WG and is spiking boost like crzy. it allreadyy cost me a motor. it spiked again but luckaly i caught it and it came off and spiked again today! hopefully i didnt crack a piston. but i did hear a loud pop. i was in 4th floored it. sounded regular (open dump tube on WG) then got quite(WG closed) thus boosting psi. not sure how high it went but i did hear a pretty loud pop. im hoping it was just a back fire. it was zip tied on. what can i use to secure it there? it cannot be that every once and a while itl slip off. TIA
have you tried maybe even a small hoseclamp? how tight was the zip tie? on vaccum lines, i dont mess around...i tighten it with a pliers until the excess breaks off.

no problem, let us know how it goes..
btw: what wastegate do you have? and is the nipple barbed so the vaccum line stays on better?

The Deltagate has a notorious reputation for contributing to boost spike. turbosi03's Deltagate caused him blown rings and a cracked sleeve a couple weeks ago. Try a clamp instead of the zip tie.

If you want the lines to stay for good, just replace them with -AN fittings and SS line or the Aeroquip push on line. It is less expensive than the SS and hold up well. It may seem like overkill, but spend a little money now on the lines and not worry about spiking and killing another engine. My entire set-up has the -AN fittings and lines and I am worry free even up to 25 pounds.

You live and learn though

Do a compression test before assuming anything. Also, always use a small hoseclamp on those lines. You can get them at your local Pep Boys, Autobarn, AutoZone etc.
