Default k24 block in a RSX type-S parts list!?

im in a unique situation as the body shop i work at bought a 2004 CRV for parts (rear quarters) they are throwing the rest out, me and a buddy were thinking of putting the block into his type-s. Seeing as it is free is it worth it? reliable? power gains? also whats the parts list and is everything a simple bolt on process like the dowels and what not. what head gasket is used??

thanks in advance and ill have some pics if we go through with this

I hope you did not take your friends Type-S block apart.

You said the block, pistons are not interchangable nor are the bearings. They have different bore sizes.

Your forgeting the oil pump from the type-s, take the balance shaft out and use the Type-s oil pump, also use the windage tray from the Type-S also.

Type-S ECU piloting the k24a1 will stress the motor out unless you drive like a soccer mom. I hope your friend is not a WOT throttle everyday redline addictive person.

1. Can't be called CRVTEC k24 is already a VTEC motor.

2. Clear.

3. Clear.

4. No excessive redlining, sure it can be reliable depends on your driving.

5. Bolt on 4G63
