E-Brake Light stays on?
My E-Brake stays on in the morning when its cold out, then earlier I was driving it came on out of nowhere, then it shut off, and came back on again. I got it adjusted once before. Does anyone know why it does this?
yea mine does the same thing, i thought mine was the only one that did it, that's why i never posted it earlier. Guess it's a normal teg, problem.
it was just a shot in the dark
if you have a neuspeed bar, it could be possible that it's crushing the sensor wires that lead to the brake fluid cap.

oic, i thought u were fkn with him.. Like, that white smoke? hmm, maybe take off that itr emblem and it'll go away..
Other than the brake fluid system, the only other thing i can think of is the actual ebrake switch that senses the actual lever.. (?) Let us know if u find out, I'd like to hear the answer..

well , my e-brake was jacked up because I was using it to do cool burn outs and 180's ...270 one time ..... my brake light would stay on while the break was disengaged and the go off, then come back on..... I took it to my local dealer like I didnt know what was going on and they just tightened it up.. It works like its supposed to now.. hfd.... 98black/bluepearlclear Grand Sport Ragedy
Try adjusting the tension on the lever. Mine was doing that, then I noticed when I just slightley litfed up on the e-brake lever it went away. So I took the center council out and and tightened the tension on the e-brake by tightening or loosening theat little bolt, just go both ways and see if it works.
Mine used to do that too.
Ebrake light would stay on, turn off, then come on. I took apart the console...swich was fine.
I changed the front brake pads and I have never had the problem since. It could be a "your pads need changing" indicator...the fronts were almost gone.

yea mine was the same way, when i replaced my front pads the light went away, but it came back, and i have new pads on there now. Also, it only seems to happen on a cold morning, so that doesn't explain anything
I wonder if this is a common occurence on 98 Integras. I've posted about the same problem and most people said to check the brake fluid or the brake cable. The brake fluid is fine (still full) and the cable I'll have checked by a mechanic when I take in for service.
Btw, mine also comes on when it's cold outside and goes away after the engine has warmed up, but sometimes just comes on and off. Weird.
I believe my front pads need to be replaced too, but I'm not sure if it's related to the e-brake light coming on.
