Default Problem with brake indicator light

I got a problem with the brake indicator light staying on after I release the e-brake. It will go off after a couple of miles and it usually comes on after the car has been sitting over night or longer. It has also come on while I was cruising down the road. That only happend once or twice. The brake fluid level is Kosher and so is the pad wear. I have 24000 on my ITR. I suspected maybe the E-brake limit switch but since it came on while I was driving I don't believe that is the problem. Just seeing if any one has had this problem. I don't really want to take it to the dealer.

A bad sensor on the brake fluid reservoir cap is not unheard of.

But like Ed said, triple-check your brake fluid level, or add a splash extra.

How is that sensor normally opened or normally closed? Or does it mesure off of resistance. I will bring home my fluke meter tomorrow and Ohm it out thanks.

Add some above the full level, but not so much that you make a mess.
Mine is doing the same thing (again), need to add a splash more and maybe giggle the float.

I have nooo idea

But I do know it has caused problems for some people. Or do what Ed suggests - add a touch more fluid for a free fix. Save money for

i had the same problem on my R's, i just added a little more fluid. i first noticed the light staying on when it turned cold outside, never during the summer months. the light would go out after the fluid got a little warm and expanded. not a big problem, easy fix.
