my buddy's girl just picked up a 95 eg hatch (cx) model though, she loves it and gas in are area is $2.05
so she likes the gas milage,
But, its kinda slow like 70hp, i am more B-series kinda guy,but i was curious what she could do to her cx motor to get maybe like 95 or 100 hp?
92-95 DX intake manifold and tb? would it make a difforence
92-95 si intake manfold and tb??
can u do a mini-me vtec swap on to a cx block?
or would can u put any 16 valve head on there?
any info would be much arrpreciated
thanks

anything that you do to make it a "DX" engine, is going to make it have DX fuel economy.
if you swap a 16v head and intake manifold on that engine, you basically have a D15B7 DX.... 105hp. the ECU will definately limit you, as the rev limit on one of those things is like 5500 rpm.
basically a DX conversion would consist of:
16v head
dx/ex/si/lx intake manifold and throttle body
P06 ECU
you will still have the very crappy CX tranny gear ratios, but you will have your target 100hp.
btw, yes a VTEC head will slap right onto that block. the D15B8 CX block is *identical* to the d15b7 DX block. only in earlier CRX HF 8 valve engines did the pistons not have 4 valve reliefs per piston.

I try not to be an ******* but when **** like this happens I have no choice.
You need to quit stealing other peoples threads. This guys thread holds hardly no comparison to what you just said, what you just said didnt even make since. If you having problems with your car hit the "POST NEW TOPIC" button then write what your problem is or do a search......I think you'll find you will have much better results.
And good english and grammer usually help to alleviate most problems on this board. since half the time no one can even read what others say.
