Default CX block with DX head

I have a cx engine and i was wondering if I could place a dx head onto the cx block? would everything macth up since they are both SOHC and non vtec? will it make my engine perform like a dx instead of a slow cx? Has anyone just tinkered around with their cx engine before they got a swap?? I would like a swap but I have no money for that right now, I just wanna play around with my slow engine.
Thanx Civilized

I've put my DX head on my buddies CX. All you need is head, gaskets, ECU. If you want more power i would suggest getting intake manifold and throttle body too. The TB on CX is sooo friggin small.

the cx-dx felt the same as my dx-ex conversion.

BTW CX has a lil bit lower compression, but you will still add like 20 ponies to your ride.

what year cx is it? if its a 96 up it has the same motor as the dx and lx so u would be gaining nothing. better to find a vtec head from an 92-95 ex/si or 96-00 ex that would be alot better than the non-vtec head. by the way the best bang for your buck would probably be swapping your tranny for an ex tranny.
