Just swaped JDM B16 into EG hatch
Alright the swap went smooth, but when I started her up for the first time, I noticed a steady stream of oil leaking on the front left side of the head gasket. Also when I took it for a spin I noticed a cloud of smoke in my rear veiw mirror only above the vtec crossover. It seems to be burning oil so I did a compression test and the results were as follows: 175 180 165 175. Could the oil leaking from the head gasket be leaking into the cylinders as well or is this something else like the valve seals or the piston rings. Please let me know because this is getting frustrating not knowing what I have to do to fix it. Some more info on the motor: I bought it off a friend and he said he repalced the head gasket and the cam seals. He also had the head milled to .042". Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
i got the same thing it may be the v-tec solinoid gasket or the seal on the dizzy too. let the motor cool they wipe it all with a rag and run it for like 10 min. till it warms up and watch where its streaming from "have the some sh*t right now" im just quiting for the summer
building the long bloch and hope to drop it into a eg hatch this winter. good luck

Wow, you brought this thread back from the dead. I ended up rebuilding the motor with CTR slugs and new bearings. I also got the head rebuilt with new guides and valve seals. So now im oil leak free!
