Replace rear lower control arm or bushings???
Last week I replaced both front upper control arms, and both lower ball joints in my 91 Integra.
It was the longest week-end I have ever had in 26 years !
At the end of the day it was all about fortitude and a BFH !!
Now after going through all that hell last week-end I have found that the rear lower control arm bushings look like aszz, and require replacement.
So, my question is do people simply replace the bushings, or do they save some grief and replace the entire assembly which includes the bushings??
If someone can help a girl out as to what is involved to do this, and what not to do it would be greatly appreciated.
I just dont want those Tokico struts to go through my little head while I am doing this.
Lots of love

i just changed my lower controll arm bushings a few days ago b/c i was getting really bad wheel vibrations. I went to a few shops and they told me they could only order me the whole lower controll arm. So i said **** you and did some searching, it turns out the lower controll arm bushings are like 21 bucs each. so i ordered them online, put them in... bing bang boom, everything is peachy.
so yes, you can get the lower control arm bushings alone, and no dont replace the whole arm if the arm if there is nothing wrong with it.
good luck hun

You could always buy polyurethane bushings and reuse the existing LCAs...but it takes a decent amount of time. While your at it, make sure the rear trailing arm bushings are in good shape. They are probably shot if all of your other bushings are bad.
Thanks alot for all the replies guys.
After looking over the rest of the rear of the vehicles suspension, the trailing arm, compensator, and LCA are all shot.
Where can a girl find the cheapest price for the ES Hyper Flex master kit on the net?
I have read that the LCA is only $60.00 a side from A&H motorsports. So for that I might be going that route, as well as ording all the bolts required.
I have read too many stories from other G2 owners with respect to seized bolts or shearing bolt heads.
The rest I think I will simply replace the bushings with the ES poly's.
Any thoughts???

I got a full bushing kit for my 93 Civic for about $100-$120 (i forgot exactly). That did not include rear trailing arm bushings, which were about $28 from a local shop for the pair. I also put GSR rear LCAs into the Civic so I had to track down bushings for those arms cause the bushings are a different size than the Civic LCAs.
I used a drill press, a saw, and a grinder to get the old bushings out, but if you have access to a hydraulic press...then you will save a lot of time.
So if you have the time and want to save some money, just replace the bushings and use your existing LCAs.
Also, I don't think any kits include compensator arm bushings....i'm not sure if anyone ever replaces them???

maybe people can use other methods which i dont know of any other way than replacing the bushings with the hydrolic bench press. Find a socket with the slightly smaller measurement then push those suckers out and pop the new one in.
If you dont have a hydrolic bench press then take it to a machine shop. i think they'll do it for 10 bucks each bushing

$60!!! I find that hard to believe but I would be very happy if it was. Going to check right now....
