I'd say a rough estimate is 5000 in the US, Definitely more than 4000.

If you add in the Canadian ones.... 8-9000?

According to what I've gathered, There were close to 5000 for North America with the US getting around 3800 of them. I'd say there are no more than 2500 rolling around now in the US.

With all the JDM cars and engines are being imported into the US everyday, it would imposible to restore an ITR to it's obsolute original condition 30yrs from now.

im curious how many we have accounted for here on HT.

its hard to believe there could be THOUSANDS out in the streets of the USA unaccounted for with none of us being aware of them.

I know of a few in this area, most are on HT, and I dont see any others around here, EVER.

I doubt the elderly college Prof. that previously owned Gina's car (now mine), was on H-T.

Likewise I thing there are and will continue to be some good buys available on ITRs in the papers/cars.com etc., in the years to come.
Most/many of which were probably never modded and may not even have seen much VTEC.

I'm thinking 500ish in 97, + 1500ish in 98, + 3000ish in 2000, + 3000ish in 2001 = 8000ish, and I'm thinking at the rate of lost R's over the years there's about 6000ish left.

This seems to me the most accurate. Where are some of you getting 3000 for 00' and 3000 for 01'?
