fresh rebuild, 0 miles, never been ran.

happened yesterday too. thought it was the battery so i got a new one from wally world. even did it today with the new battery so i threw it on the charger until it was completely charged, and the clicking still continues. i made a short little video describing the problem in action...

so far my buddy has said to check the grounds, and maybe the take the starter off and see if its spinning and also see if the crank turns without binding.

got spark? got fuel? got combustion? then STARTER

sounds like a bad starter to me, get a hammer and hit the housing while someone tries to start it, if you cant reach the houseing place a crowbar down to the housing and tap the end of the crow bar with the hammer, be patient it might take a couple times for it to start,

 

yep, sounds like the starter, grounds or connections to starter/battery

 

as it turns out, the problem was with the ground. the starter grounds itself off the tranny, and the tranny ground wasn't in an efficient spot, so i just moved it the the original spot and voila
