I think my car is falling apart. First I can’t shift gears and now the engine ticks like crazy!! I think it is the valves or something. But b\w my idle and 4000rpms it makes a very annoying ticking noise. But I think it only does it when I am in gear. When I rev the engine some it doesn’t make the noise. Any ideas as to what this might be?

 

yeah, the bearings in your tranny sound like they are gone.....break out the vaseline and get ready to bend over...

 

Change your fluids...

 

Agreed, first thing to do would be to check ALL fluids.

 

you probably need a new clutch, and a valve adjustment.

i think that is whats going to happen. Fri I take it to the dealer for a new clucth and I am going to tell them about the ticking. it is driving me insane!!!


That was a funny comment about the vaseline. I actually said about the same thing to one of my friend today about my car situation.

 

HA! You THINK you get vaseline!! The dealer doesn't even give you that, they just give it to you straight up!

and if they DID let you use vaseline, they'd charge 20 bucks for it!

check your engine oil... my dads legend was tickin like nuts and then we realized there hasnt been ANY oil in it for about a month... WHOPS! but anyway, change your oil right away.

Well the ticking noise that I heard was a broken exhaust manifold bolt! And Acura said it is going to cost $260 to fix!!!, That is some crap!!! $260 for a bolt?

 

Which bolt? Figure it out and replace it yourself. Not even worth it to let them stick you.

 

To Late I didn’t even know it was broken until Acura told me. And so I just told them to go ahead and fix it b\c they were already repairing the clutch and master cylinder on the car. But $260 is insane!!! I could almost have purchased new headers for that price. And that would have come with all new bolts!
