oil light on a turbo car?
I have an oil light permanently on on my turbo car... what could some of the causes be? I have the right amount of oil in there maybe a bit overfilled if anything, maybe not the right grade (cant remember now). But i was just wondering whether the rubber boot that fits on the oil pressure sensor could have come loose? if anyone has experienced this can they put down how they got round it or what the causes are and i''ll check it out when i finish work. Oil pressure is 122 PSI on idle, drops to about 100 PSI once warm... any thoughts? thanks

Holy god damn are you serious...
122psi at idle is crazy high, and 100psi after warm is STILL way to high...
i dont think that will cause the light but i get 100psi(driving!) when cold and warm its 20psi(idle)
somethings up with your oil pressure... check the sensor first..see if its still connected....go from there

yeah it is 122 PSI when first starting, it is then 100PSI when warmed up but thats not with the car on the road just idling till its warmed.
i shall check the sensor tonight to make sure it is on properly that could be the reason for the check light but not too sure what to do about the high pressure.
The pressure sender unit is T-eed off the feed hose to my oil cooler if thats helps so i wasnt expecting it to be exact but certainly not that high. any thoughts on the matter?

First check your oil gauge. May have a crimp or something in it? If you light is on, maybe the connection on your oil sending unit is loose? I would check that also.
Good luck...
