Default Those running PR3 with two o2 Sensors question.

Hey guys, i currently only have 1 o2 sensor running, i'm just wondering if it would make a difference if i attached the 2nd o2 sensor up, i'm not throwing any codes, but i just recently installed an a/f ratio gauge, and boy am i running lean, its so lean that it doesnt' even register on gauge. and at WOT, it wont' even register in the rich area, i'm just wondering if running one o2 sensor on a 2 sensor enabled setup could effect my mixture? i have the o2 sesnor hooked up on the manifold, but no wires running to the computer. thanks guys, just wondering, and if that's not the case, is tehre other reasons why i might be running lean?
thanks in advance.

i never knew i had only 1 sensor wire hooked up until i installed the a/f ratio, but i'm not throwing any codes? i mean, i'm not even sure if the pr3 computer has the 2nd o2 sensor disabled, so i'm not sure if that will make a difference? or should i say the hell with it and hook it up anyhow?

dgonzals, hey buddy, you do'nt have to fear a great amount, as i been running with this setup for about a year and a half now, but i just recently picked up an a/f ratio gauge and a oil pressure gauge that i have yet to install, i just installed the a/f ratio gauge, when i had it installed about a 2 years ago, they told me that they spliced the 2nd o2 into the first o2, but they really ddint', never actually checked that, but i wasn't throwing any codes for o2 sensor anyhow, so i ddin't worry, even without the a/f, car pulled really strong, able to run low 14's without an exhaust, oem factory muffler. all i had was 90 aem cold air intake, what i would recommand though is that you get like a 99 si/sir cold air intake, bigger diameter.

if you have money then get the hasport wire harness(then you wont have to do any splicing/cutting)keep the engine wire harness thats on your motor right now and keep it in good condition when you remove it cuz your gonna put that on your new motor and to the guy wondering about hookin up the other o2 sensor,if you can i would hook it up and see if there is a difference in performance..good luck doods

the two o2 sensor setup was only on the non-OBD JDM B16 engines. 90-91 LS engines only use one.

Don't buy a 75 dollar hasport harness that your going to use one plug on lol. Go find the ecu pin readouts, cut the wire on the other o2 wire it up and pin it. Save your self the pain. An you need that o2 sensor unless you do and OBD-1 Conversion, in that case you only use 1 o2 and its heated, and works much better. Save your cash, and go obd-1. In the end you will be much happier you didn't spend 75 dollar's for 1 wire lol, and 4 you won't use.
