Tranny crapped out on me, please help quickly
I have a 90 b18a1, and the tranny just quit, lemme just exlain real quick what happened, and please tell me your opinions/experiences.
Early in November 03 I bought a manual 1990 4dr gs from a guy who worked at a Honda dealership as a mechanic. The car had 230,000, but he said the motor was swapped for a used motor which has 150,00 on it (dont know if trans has 150k or 230k). The first week of driving I noticed if I shifted into second above 5000 rpm, it would grind, so I got online to see if anyone else had a solution (other than rebuild) for this. I found that using GM synchromesh would work, so I put that $11/quart oil in the tranny. Fixed the grind. The next three months, the engine and tranny was great, no leaks, grinds, not even a single hiccup.
One week ago my car started making a kinda loud noise when in nuetral and clutch out, and about that same time, 5th gear would grind if I shifted into it above 35 mph.
Yesterday I am slowing down for a stoplight and all the sudden I cant get it into first or second gear. The selector just wont go far enough left to go in either gear. So i had to drive home using only 3,4,5, and that is where it sits today. Please Help!

I know mine either needs to be replaced or rebuilt, but I guess what I want to know here is if anyone else here has experienced the same or similar problem and knows exactly what in the tranny needs to be replaced (synchros, bearings, gears, etc???)
