Default Fiberglass stronger than bondo ????

Hey guys, need help with something. I am looking at buying a hatch with fresh paint. The rear quarterpanels had rust, and they had it cut out and fiberglassed. Then they primered and resprayed the car.

Is fiberglass pretty solid and last longer than regular bondo ???? Will I regret it later.

please tweak this ride and tell me what you think.

You wouldn't use bondo for such a project. However they did take a lazy way out, they should have cut off the rusted part and welded on a replacement steel piece.

I know for a fact he told me they cut out the 2 rust spots on each quarterpanel and fiberglassed them. To me that sounds stronger than bondo and will last a lot longer. But, I am no body expert. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Thanks

all they did was cut out the rust and fiberglass behind the hole and then put a layer of bondo across the top. sanded it down and painted it. it should be fine as long as they got rid of all the rust and made sure that there is no bare metal showing now....

You def say that IF the rust was completely cut out and fiberglassed, that the fiberglass is plenty to keep the quarterpanel intact and from breaking off or anything ????
