Thought this would be the right forum and someone could help.

On my car I have a few small surface rust spots maybe 2x2 and was going to just sand off all the rust, fill with body filler, prime and paint? Is that the way to do surface rust? Thats the easy part.

I also have some pretty nasty rear quarter panels and the rust is pretty big. How would I go about fixing bigger holes? Like they just cant be filled with filler obviously, need a platform to start on. Anyone have any personal knowledge or a good website with a how-to?

the right way to stop the rust from spreading would be sanding it all off and if it is really bad you would have to cut it out and weld back new metal. I wouldn't use alot of body filler if yoou plan on keeping the car. hope this helps bro
