suspension problems, cant figure it out =/
im having suspension problems... i cant figure out what is wrong with it, i got 4 new tires (flk azen), balanced them, new axel, checked hug bearings, checked everything and anything that has to do with suspension and i am still getting the same problem. the problem i am getting is, that it feels like my wheels are wobbling (sp?) back and forth. it doesn’t always happen, but it seems to happen the most around 50+ mph.
any help or insight would be great, thnx in advance.

tie rod ends? rack? jack it up and see if you can pull the whole wheel out towards you, or turn the steering wheel and see if the wheels turn with a little bit of steering wheel motion.
just got new 15inch nippon (spoon look alike) rims with 4 new flk azen, so it cant be that. i was thinking maybe it is the controll arm bushings? could that be it?
btw i thought it was balance but if the tires where out of balance they would always shake, but like i said sometimes at 50+ it doesnt shake, and sometimes it does.... *ponders what the problem can be...

That is what i was going to ask. I had a set of hubcentric rims get jacked, and when I threw my steelies back on I had horrible wobble at about 50. Turns out one of the rings was still on the hub so that wheel was not seated properly. A erroneous, or missing ring will do that. It owned me...I felt like a tard.

Are your wheels hubcentric? If not, do you use hubcentric rings?
im not to sure, i drive a 94 teg, when i shake the driver side wheel it isnt really that firm, like when i shake the passengerside wheel up and down/left right i dont get any movment, but when i shake the drive side wheel, i get movement like if the bolts where lose (just alittle) that means my hub bearing is messed up right?
edit, and if they are messed up would that lead to the problem i am haveing right now? b/c like i said, the car just started doing this out of the clear blue sky, i didnt hit a bump or anything. i was just driveing and boom! just started shakeing.

Do you have the center ring that goes on each Rim you say you just bought rims well if you did you need to get these rings! I think that is what the hubcentric ring is!
Firstly have you got the ring for the alloy on that particular wheel, your gonna have to remove that wheel and check!
Hub Centric, basically mean the wheel is centred on the hub (the centrebore) This is what takes the weight of your car through the wheels, doesnt matter how many bolts you have, they just hold the wheel to the hub on top of the centre bore. If you havent got that plastic/metal ring and the other side's wheel has then theres your problem, althogh if the lug nuts are tight then the wheel shouldnt haveany play anyway and the vibrations should be noticable at 40 or 50+
the move ment on your drivers side wheel, does it feel slightly loose when you push and pull the top and bottom of the wheel then? if it does then it sounds like your hub bearings!

i changed my hub bearing today, and it seems to have helped, havnt gotten that much shakeing sence the change, but then again i havnt driven it that much... i will take it for a spin tommorrow, and see how it goes.
bearing, the driver side bearing was bad, so i changed it, i still think the lower controll arm bushings are bad, im going to change those today or tommorrow. hopefully that will work.
I have sort of this kind of problem.. But the prob is that i have 200 000km and pretty much everything original.. R/frnt wheel bearing finished, supension..well no comment!
+many bushings cracked.. Im due for a HUGE overhaul..

So did you use a press to remove the bearings? as for the bushings, make sure it is torqued to specification, all cars handle very differently when the suspensions are over tightened
How did it go with the LCA ?
