an-r intake manifold gasket causing smoking!!!??
me and my brother bought two an-r manifold gaskets a couple weeks ago and after putting it on..the motor smokes like crazy out of the exhaust (both our cars)...is it the gasket? or??
it seems like the gasket is too thick..and causing the injectors to push out too far..
once the gasket is in..i can only screw in like 3 threads from the manifold to the head..
maybe thats the problem??
does anyone have a similar problem with the an-r gaskets??
help me out guys..
my car is smoking like craaaazy!! black smoke with a strong *** smell..

i have the anr gasket on my gsr. it works fine. My guess would be you may be leaking coolant where the manifold meets the gasket and is being sucked into the engine combustion chamber.
also you are using bolts instead of studs and nuts. might want to make sure the bolt end isnt hitting the bottom of the thread hole. ah i just noticed you said you are using 3 threads. not good. make sure you bolt the whole thing down snug.

Waste of money? If you're only making contact with 3 threads, thats not good at all. New studs would run about $5.
