Default d16z6 block with y8 head........what headstuds?

ok so i have a 95 z6 block, with a 96 y8 head.......the rest is unimportant for now, but i have searched many places to find the correct info on what headstuds to use.....i found one source that said it was the y8 headstuds, so i ordered arp y8 headstuds......i got them brand new yesterday and screwed them in, and when i slide the head over them only a few are long enough to even start putting on a nut and washer, but 6 of them arent long enough to even come all the way through the hole.......so am i doing something wrong or do i need different headstuds? sorry if i sound like a jackass and thanks for the help!

btw..I used 208-4301s for my D16Z block + Y8 combo,I had to use extra washers on two studs cause they were too long, the rest were fine.

you might need two studs from that Y8 kit so you dont have to run washers on the new Z6 ones..The one with the Z gets 2 extra washer, the X gets 1 extra if you use all Z6 studs

intake side
Z O O X
O O O O
exhaust side

Try two of those Y8 studs in Z and X and see if this fit ok
